Just 25 kilometers from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Shivapuri National Park is one of the few national parks within a nation's capital. The highest point of our trek is Shivapuri Hill at 2729 meters, where we will experience traditional Nepalese hospitality in Shivapuri Village. We will also enjoy beautiful views of the western mountains including Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal Range, Mt. Langtang Range, Mt. Dorjeelakpa, Mt. Shisapangma, and Mt. Gaurishankar. We enjoy additional views when we arrive in Nagarkot, known for its sunrise and sunset and beautiful river scenery. From Nagarkot we will visit Changunarayan (1500 m), said to be the oldest temple in the Kathmandu Valley and a UNESCO World Heritage site, on our way to Dhulikhel. From here a car will take us to Kathmandu for a sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Another day in Kathmandu will provide opportunities to visit the Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
This trek is a leisurely stroll that combines nature, diverse cultures, incredible bird watching, impressive photographic opportunities and time to relax. It is an ideal trek for those with limited time and a desire to see a lot of the Kathmandu Valley.
