Round Dhaulagiri Trek
Maximum Altitude : 5300 meters
Duration of Trek : 17 days camping
Neighboring the Annapurna Himal, Dhaulagiri lies to the west. Trekking the region is not an easy pursuit but it offers fantastic rewards,… The initial couple of days are taken along the floor of the Myagdi Khola (river) passing through lush green rice paddies and past thatched farmhouses. To be honest, it hardly prepares you for the journey about to unfold.
Almost a week is spent trekking through dense forest up the Myagdi Khola before entering an alpine region which abuts the awe inspiring and sweeping amphitheater at the base of Dhaulagiri.
From here onwards some serious high mountain trekking lies ahead which demands planning and commitment.
The rewards are well worth it; the ruggedness of the terrain provides a kaleidoscope of experiences and tremendous views. French pass the highest point of the trek can be difficult and demanding, especially in bad weather conditions.
Seasoned trekkers to Nepal speak extremely highly of this journey ,if you possess a good degree of fitness, there are few better experiences to be had in the Kingdom.
