The Kathmandu Valley, surrounding the capital city of Nepal, affords many incredible and varied treks for all levels of enthusiasts.
If you hope to see all the major sights of the valley -- Kakani, Shivapuri, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Namo Buddha -- then this trek along the longest trail in the Kathamndu Valley is the trip for you. A leisurely trek here offers 180-degree mountain views stretching from the far western Annapurna Range to Everest in the east. This beautiful region also provides you with ample opportunities to understand the local people, visit their villages, and learn about their cultures and lifestyles.
The valley rim lies around 1050 meters to 2800 meters above sea level. In spring the area is alive with blooming rhododendrons, magnolias, and many wild, bushy, colorful flowers. In autumn and winter the mountain views of the entire Annapurna Range and Mt. Manaslu, Rolwaling Range and Everest Range are not to be missed. All year this trek is a good bird watching route as about 200 different species of birds make this region their permanent home.
The trek takes you through typical Nepalese countryside and exposes you to the various ethnic groups of Nepal. It is perfect for those traveling with small children or who suffer from altitude sickness, but still want a Nepalese mountain experience.
Day to day Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive in Kathmandu (1320 m) / transported to hotel
Day 02 : Drive to Kakani (2066 m)
Day 03 : Kakani to Shivapuri (2729 m)
Day 04 : Shivapuri to Mulkharka (1894 m)
Day 05 : Day of sightseeing in Mulkharka (overnight in teahouse)
Day 06 : Mulkharka to Chisopani (2194 m)
Day 07 : Chisopani to Nagarkot (2175 m)
Day 08 : Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (1440 m)
Day 09 : Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha (1982 m) and then to Balthali (1730 m)
Day 10 : Day of sightseeing in Balthali
Day 11 : Balthali to Lakuri Bhanjyang (2000 m)
Day 12 : Lakuri Bhanjyang to Lubhu village (1281 m - 1609 m)
Day 13 : Lubu Village to Kathmandu
Day 14 : Transported to airport for your flight to onward destination
